Pastor Charles H. Rogers Jr.
Pastor Charles H. Rogers Jr. is the oldest of three children born to the late Pastor Charles H. Rogers Sr., and Mrs. Velma G. Rogers. He attended Columbus Public Schools and is a graduate of the Walnut Ridge Senior High School.
Pastor Rogers served in the United States armed forces as an Army, Radar Repair Specialist and an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist in the Air Force Reserve. Pastor Rogers attended Franklin University, School of Business and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the DeVry University, a Master of Biblical Studies and an earned, Doctor of Theology degree from the North Carolina College of Theology. Throughout the course of his secular career Pastor Rogers has held many notable positions to include Vice President of Network Engineering, Bank of America Corp., Systems Engineer for the world renown, Cisco Systems, Inc., Manager of Network Services for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Senior Network Services Manager for DSW, Inc., Director of Infrastructure for Safelite AutoGlass, and IT-Engineering for Express-Scripts Inc.
Pastor Rogers accepted the call to the ministry in 1984, and soon after moved to Miami, Florida where he joined the Gamble Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under Superintendent Julian C. Jackson (Bishop). He was active in the word and music ministries, playing bass guitar for the Senior and Mass choirs. In December of 1985, Pastor Rogers was united in holy matrimony to Miss. Leisa L. Davis. In April of 1986,
Pastor Rogers was transferred to St. Louis Missouri. Pastor and Sister Rogers joined the Williams Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the pastoral leadership of Dr. L. M. Wooten (Bishop). While serving under Bishop Wooten, Pastor Rogers was ordained in 1989. He served in various positions and capacities to include: Associate Minister, Transportation Coordinator, Shuttle bus driver, Sunday School and Y.P.W.W. teacher, Audio Technician, Outreach Coordinator, Pulpit expeditor, and handyman.
In 1995, through divine providence, Pastor Rogers and family began fellowshipping with the Mt. Calvary C.O.G.I.C., in Washington Park, Illinois under the Pastoral leadership of Administrative Assistant William Scott (Bishop). While serving under Bishop Scott, Pastor Rogers helped establish the MTC Community Outreach Corporation (501C3), designed to help procure local, state, and federal grants and subsidies for the church’s outreach initiatives; the MTC Technology Center, with a focus on computer literacy and applications skills; and the launching of the church’s first official Web Site. In 1999, Pastor Rogers was appointed to the office of Apostolic Adjutant, serving Bishop William Scott, prelate of the Illinois Southeast Jurisdiction.
In January 2000, Pastor Rogers followed the leading of God and relocated his wife and family to Columbus, to assist his father in the ministry. In the early months of 2001, due to his failing health, Pastor C. H. Rogers Sr. appointed the Elder C. H. Rogers Jr. as his successor to the lead the church. On June 16, 2001 the Elder C. H. Rogers Jr. was officially installed as the new Pastor, by Bishop Warren E. Miller, prelate of the Ohio Central Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ. Since that time many souls have been saved and added to the church, many new outreach initiatives have been incorporated, to in clued the “Victory Through Faith” radio broadcast, and prison ministry, incorporating Men and Women prisons throughout the state of Ohio.
Pastor Rogers served on the Ordination Board; Ohio Central Jurisdiction, District Chairman, Treasurer, and Administrative Assistant; Ohio Central East Jurisdiction. Also active in the ecumenical community, Pastor Rogers is also a member of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, and the Kingdom Connection Fellowship International, as member of the Executive Counsel, General Secretary, Executive Treasurer, and District Overseer.
On August 20, 2017, Pastor Charles & Lady Leisa Rogers said yes to a divine reassignment, and accepted the call to Pastor the Mt. Calvary C.O.G.I.C., in Washington Park Illinois. Pastor Rogers was appointed by Bishop William Scott; Pastor and Jurisdictional Prelate. That decision was immediately ratified, via vote, by the Mount Calvary church family.
Pastor Charles H. Rogers has been the husband of Lady Leisa Rogers for more than thirty-five years, the proud father of three lovely children; Sharon Michelle (Jeremy Napier), Shandon Charles, and Shauon Anthony, and three grandsons; Josiah Allen, Judah Hamilton, and Joshua Keith.
